A Jetstar flight has veered off the runway and landed in the grass at a New Zealand airport.
Flight JQ225 from Auckland to Christchurch suffered a problem that caused it to “swing wildly” after landing at around 8am on Friday.
Jetstar confirmed the incident, saying it was caused by a problem with the aircraft’s controls.

“After landing in Christchurch, the aircraft experienced a handling problem which caused it to veer onto the runway at low speed,” a Jetstar spokesman said.
“No passengers or crew were injured. The aircraft was towed to the gate and all passengers have disembarked.”
Passengers reportedly remained in their seats for about an hour after the unusual landing.
Several flights from Christchurch were delayed and the runway closed.
NZ Herald writer Diana Clement was on board the flight.
“We swerved through the grass, swerved wildly,” she said.
Clement told the Herald she was “shaken” by the experience, but no one was hurt.
“We had a hydraulic leak on the right and the plane left the runway,” she said.
“We’re surrounded by fire trucks.”
Six fire engines, a ladder and a command unit were reportedly dispatched to meet the plane on the runway, but were stopped.
