Emergency services were called to Gallipoli Avenue in Byford at around 7.05pm after receiving reports of an injured woman.
Two streets were locked down and the woman died outside a neighbor’s home after running from a house on nearby Larimar Avenue, 9News understands.
“[I] just heard a woman screaming at about 7 o’clock, then the police were shaken,” a local said today.
“[The street is] very quiet – always has been. I’ve never had any drama then this happens,” said another.
The son was allegedly seen leaving the area in a silver Peugeot.
Two hours later, officers spotted the car traveling north on the Great Northern Highway, north of Bindoon, police said.
“Officers activated emergency lights and sirens, but the driver failed to stop and a police incident ensued,” police said.
“The vehicle came to rest on the Great Northern Highway at Bindi Bindi following the successful deployment of a tire inflation device.
“The 33-year-old man, who was behaving aggressively, called the police and a taser was used.”
The man was taken into custody and has since been charged with one count of murder.
He will appear at Armadale Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
