The Jamaican finished in last place in 11.48 seconds and immediately removed his right shoe before going to the ground.
Thompson-Hera was carried off the track by two helpers.
“I felt something uncomfortable when I started pushing. I still tried to go but it got worse,” she wrote on Instagram about an hour after the race.
“I am awaiting professional advice to move forward.”
The 31-year-old has already struggled with Achilles problems and there are fears the injury has returned.
She was depicted with ice on the top of her leg.
Thompson-Hera became the first woman to win back-to-back Olympic sprints when she doubled up in Tokyo three years ago.
She was hoping to join fellow Jamaican Usain Bolt as only the second person to do it three times.
But the veteran was under a cloud even heading into Jamaica’s national trials later this month, let alone Paris 2024.
Thompson-Herah parted ways with her coach late last year and finished last in her season opener last month at the Prefontaine Classic.
