King’s Birthday public holiday 2024 trading hours: What’s open and closed today for the June long weekend

The June long weekend, better known as the King’s Birthday, is here.

Western Australia and Queensland are the furthest away, celebrating the holiday in September and October, but all other states have slightly different regulations affecting store opening hours.

Here’s a quick state-by-state guide to opening hours for Australia’s biggest retailers this King’s Birthday long weekend.

NSW, ACT, Victoria, Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia and Tasmania: All shops are open.

South Australia: All shops are closed.

NSW, ACT, Victoria, Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia and Tasmania: All shops are open.

South Australia: Most shops are closed. Victor Harbor, Port Augusta, Renmark, Murray Bridge and Mount Gambier stores will be open.

NSW, ACT, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania: All stores are open normal business hours.

South Australia: All stores closed except Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Berri, Port Augusta, Mount Barker, Whyalla, Murray Bridge Green, Mount Gambier, Victor Harbor.

NSW, ACT, Victoria, Northern Territory and Tasmania: All stores are open with reduced opening hours.

Queensland and Western Australia: All shops are open.

South Australia: Some stores are closed including Firle, Tea Tree, Munno Para, Ingle Farm, Kurralta Park, West Lakes, Port Noarlunga, Marlon and Churchill.

NSW, ACT, Victoria, Northern Territory and Tasmania: All shops are open with slightly reduced opening hours.

Queensland and Washington: All shops are open.

South Australia: Some stores are closed including Firle, Tea Tree, Munno Para, Ingle Farm, Kurralta Park, West Lakes, Port Noarlunga, Marlon and Churchill.

Bunning stores in every state and territory are open today, Monday 10 June.

Reduced trading hours apply in every state except Western Australia and Queensland, which do not celebrate the King’s birthday in June.

Most Dan Murphy’s stores nationwide open at 10am and close between 6pm and 7pm.

BWS stores in every state and territory open between 9am and 10am and close between 6pm and 7pm.

Queensland and Western Australia: All stores are open during normal business hours.

NSW and ACT: All centers are open from 10am and have reduced opening hours.

SA: All Westfield shopping centers are closed.

Victoria: All Victorian centers trade from 10am to 5pm.

Stores in South Australia have closed, as have a handful of stores in NSW.

Aldi stores have different opening hours across the country. We recommend that potential buyers check the Aldi store for more specific information.
