Jennifer Lopez has canceled her 2024 North American tour, Live Nation has confirmed.
“Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends,” the statement said.
The tour was to be her first in five years in support of her first solo album in a decade, This Is Me … Now, and its accompanying film.
The tour was scheduled to begin on June 26 in Orlando, Florida and conclude in Houston on August 31. Live Nation said attendees who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded.
Lopez offered her own statement to fans on her website and newsletter OntheJLo, writing, “I am completely devastated and devastated that I let you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel it was absolutely necessary.
She continued: “I promise I will get back at you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time …”
Last week, Lopez close question about reports of trouble in her marriage to Ben Affleck. During a question-and-answer session, the star was asked: “Is your divorce with Ben Affleck real? What is the truth?” She replied, “You know better than that.”
The couple was seen this week at Affleck’s daughter Violet’s graduation ceremony.
This Is Me … Now was released earlier this year, 20 years after her hit album This Is Me … Then. Lopez told the Associated Press that the new album is a “miracle” and a “second chance. And I would like to capture that moment in time the way the album captured that moment in time.”
Her sci-fi adventure on Netflix Atlas recently scored negative reviews with a 19% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but became a hit with viewers. garnering 28.2 million views over Memorial Day weekend.
She will next be seen in a musical adaptation of Kiss of the Spider Woman alongside Diego Luna and the sports drama Unstoppable, produced by Affleck and Matt Damon.
